Web 2.0
Diigo
To begin, Diigo is a very cool and interesting web 2.0 tool that I have actually never heard of before I started this class. When we first began using this tool I found it a little strange because I have never experienced something like it before. However, after getting to use it for a little while I found that I do enjoy being able to share information with other people so easily. For example, I find the highlighting and sticky note feature really awesome and unique for sharing thoughts about an article or website. Granted, one thing I do not enjoy about Diigo is how clustered and cluttered the group home page can begin to feel when links and other things are added.
P.S. I love her and this movie!!! (The Devil Wears Prada)
Blogging
One thing I can definitely say I do not enjoy about blogging is that I can't use the tab button! 😫 Also, the website itself does not seem very up to date in the formatting options it gives you to blog with. Granted, that may just be an issue with Blogger. I feel like while blogging I have learned that not everything will turn out perfect and thats okay. I have also learned how to add gifs to blogs. I didn't actually know how to do it before lol, and I google searched it because I wanted to do it so badly. On another note, I do feel like blogging is super cool and a great creative outlet. I really enjoy being able to add gifs (if you hadn't noticed), and I think its really cool that we can be as informal as we want. I feel like blogging gives me a newfound and a way to explore my imagination.
Web 2.0
I think one web 2.0 tool I will for sure be using in my classroom is YouTube. YouTube is a great site to find videos that are relevant too content and give a different perspective. It also holds an enormous amount of YouTubers (including teachers, professors, etc) who dedicate their pages to education based content which is really awesome! As as student I have used YouTube to learn and find it very helpful when I don't quite understand the lecture my professor has given and I would like a different explanation or viewpoint. Some YouTubers even animate their videos which is awesome if students would rather that type of content rather than a person blabbering on the camera. Overall, I think it will be very useful for my students and even for me as a teacher!
Me on YouTube :P
